Front end developer

Applied is looking for a front end developer. We expect the candidate to have some or most of these experiences and qualities.


– Build fully responsive web sites based on HTML5, CSS3, media queries and to web standards
– Knowledge of web-apps would be beneficial 
– Clean optimised code is a must 
– Working with Wordpress, Drupal or other developer supported CMS systems to build complex and information heavy sites 
– Knowledge of Javascript and JQuery 
– Can work to an agile development process

Project Manager

Applied is looking for a proactive Project Manager to take on projects that range from wayfinding and information design to environmental graphic design. 

As Project Manger, you will be working closely with the partners on projects that are highly creative, individual and international, with outcomes that have effects on a city–wide level. 


Experience of 

– overseeing, planning and delivering a range of projects 
– managing budgets
– working on a daily basis with creative directors, designers and planners
– working with senior representatives from a range of public and private sector clients/organisations


Excellent communication skills are essential, as all our projects require extensive client liaison and presentations. We also expect the candidate to have sufficient capabilities of writing proposals, or to have copywriting skills. Responsibilities of the Project Manager also include supplier liaison, as well as preparation of work schedules, budget proposals and project concepts.

Mid level designers

Applied is looking for mid to senior level designers with minimum 5 years experience, eager to work on projects where information, wayfinding and design meet. We are looking for both freelance and full time designers with possibilities of one leading to another. 


Candidates' interest should range in 
– information design 
– wayfinding, signage, cartography
– design for transport 
– environmental graphic design

Prior experiences involving interaction design (websites and apps), branding, exhibition design and editorial design are also highly appreciated. 


Experience of 

– creatively directing, planning and delivering a range of projects 
– managing budgets 
– working on a daily basis with other graphic designers, contractors and senior representatives from a range of public and private sector organisations


We of course don't expect applicants to have all these qualities and experiences, but if you feel you can relate to a combination of the fields mentioned above, we would love to hear from you.

Placement Programme – Designers, Urban Planners & GIS trainees

Applied operate a placement program throughout the year where junior designers/GIS trainees and urban planners can gain an insight into the everyday workings of our unique design studio and become involved in creative projects.

We offer an initial two week period with an option for a further two.

Expenses will be covered.


Requirements:
– A degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised university/Institution.
– Less than 12 months work experience since graduation.


If your work is suitable and we have available space someone from Applied will be in touch.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable industry experience learning from experienced professionals in a studio at the global forefront of mapping, wayfinding, branding and technology.
